A Danica-Italian Alliance

In a fashion world that has been increasingly nationalized during the 20’th century (due to the increasing use and support of free trade in the 1900’s, which created more outsourced production – particularly after WWII), it’s nice to see a fashion brand that has a more cosmopolitan approach to fashion. The Italian designer Federico D’Angelo, though Milan-born, based his design philosophies on Roman culture and sartorial traditions. However, with the Federico D’Angelo brand based in both Milan and Copenhagen, you can see the brand has developed a singular style, that combines the best of both the Italian and Danish spirit. Federico D’Angelo embraces Italian sexiness and dolce vita, as well as Danish simplicity and everyday practicality.

This is a mixture we find most interesting,

The question is, whether Federico D’Angelo transnational style will continue to be rare or if Federico D’Angelo’s play and mix of national style, is an early step towards a globalized fashion world, that will no longer divide style expressions into national character: Will fashion institutions stop encouraging national profiling?

Any way, enough fashionolitics (yes, we made that word up and yes, it’s a comment on fashion being institutionalized and politicized), here’s some nice pic’s of Federico D’Angelo’s intriguing SS17 collection.
